This book of children's poems looks at illness and grief in children's lives and offers comfort and hope.

Though an unusual topic for a children's poetry book, Dr Coatesworth has written the poems to help children who are ill or grieving. They are written from her experience - firstly, as a long-term ill child - at a time when there was virtually no medication. The poems give a rare insight into the mind of a child who has/ has had to cope with chronic or severe illness. The books is in two sections - Poems in times of Illness and Poems in time of Grief.

But secondly, Dr Coatesworth did a lot of psychotherapeutic work with patients whose lives were devastated - either briefly or long -term by grief. These poems are to help children should they suffer such a difficult time in their young lives .

This book is a 'must' for parents and all who care for ill and grieving children, but should also be read by those who are fortunate to be well and happy.

There are 53 poems re illness and 37 re grief.
